Life has been full of awakening and challenges over the past few years; all in a good way. I grew up in a traditional, Catholic home, went to public school, church on Sunday and CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine), aka Catechism, on Tuesday night. To further my unbeknownst submission to the indoctrination process, I joined the Navy. Yes, indeed, I fell for “it’s your patriotic duty;” hook, line and sinker.
Along the way, the walls that imprisoned my mind where getting thicker and taller. I could see how the politically correct mantra was controlling how people would converse with each other. You’ve heard of the “don’t talk politics or religion” in the workplace or at family gatherings. Well, that’s part of the problem, how do we learn from each other and keep our minds open to other ideas if we have these artificial rules??
In my mid 40’s, I had strong prejudices to certain subjects. One of those subjects was marijuana. Today, as I write this piece, it occurs to me that I never researched this subject until recently. I allowed my mind to be closed and only took in “programming” from influences we are all exposed to, from our parents, public school system, television, church elders, law enforcement, medical industry and societal programming. How did it happen? I imagine working, raising children, running to this ball field and numerous other things contributed to these walls in my mind.
Today, I share with you a trailer of a documentary that is in work to help us understand medicinal cannabis; it is expected to be the most comprehensive documentary on the subject to date.
